Nantong Xingdong International Airport NTG / ZSNT

Jiangsu's regional gateway south of the Yangtze, serving as the East China regional base for Shenzhen-headquartered Donghai Airlines and as home-base airport for all-cargo carrier Jiangsu Jingdong (JD.com) Cargo Airlines, in which the airport operator holds a 25% stake; Shenzhen Airlines also operates a large share of scheduled capacity. Traffic is overwhelmingly domestic; the international network is thin — currently a seasonal Vientiane passenger route (9 Air) is the only scheduled international passenger service, alongside JD Air's Nantong-Incheon all-cargo route launched June 2024 (a 2015-era Incheon passenger route has since been discontinued) — which keeps customs and immigration active. Earlier claims of scheduled Jeju, Osaka or Phnom Penh passenger service could not be verified against current or historical route data and appear to be in error. The single runway (18/36) caps operations at B747-400-class aircraft, limited to 3,000 movements/year of that size. Planners should note that Shanghai Airport Group (51%) and Nantong City Construction Group (49%) have formed a joint venture to build an unrelated, far larger 'Nantong New Airport' (Shanghai's planned third airport; site approved by CAAC in Sept 2020; targeting ~40M pax near-term design capacity and 80M long-term, 4F classification) nearby — as of the most recent reporting found (early 2025) the project remained at the pre-feasibility study stage with no confirmed groundbreaking date, so the earlier '2027' target should be treated as unconfirmed. Xingdong has no ownership tie to that project and is expected to keep serving the city in the interim.
