Monaco Heliport (Héliport de Monaco / Héliport de Fontvieille) MCM / LNMC

Monaco's sole aviation facility is a government-run public heliport (opened 1976), not an airport - the Principality has no fixed-wing airport. Its dominant traffic is the roughly 7-minute scheduled helicopter shuttle to Nice Cote d'Azur Airport (NCE), Monaco's sole scheduled route, run at over 40 flights/day (about every 15 minutes) by the Monacair/Heli Securite alliance under Blade Air Mobility, which acquired Monacair's, Heli Securite's and Azur Helicoptere's commercial passenger-transport activities for roughly EUR 48 million in a deal announced May 2022 - a real ownership/operating change from the facility's still-government-owned, Monacair-branded exclusive route concession (held since 1 January 2016). Other carriers on file for the NCE route include Heli Air Monaco and Alpes Helicopteres. Corrects an earlier draft that mischaracterized Monacair as majority government-owned: it is privately held (Casiraghi brothers ~70%, John Elkann ~20%), with Blade's 2022 acquisition covering only the commercial flight operations, not the concession itself.
