Airport contact
Naujaat (formerly Repulse Bay, renamed 2015) is the only North American community situated directly on the Arctic Circle, an Inuit hamlet in the Kivalliq region served solely by Calm Air with scheduled flights to Rankin Inlet and connections onward. A U.S. DEW Line radar station operated at the site until 1963; the gravel runway (built in the 1970s, replacing earlier seaplane/sea-lift resupply) now handles ATR-42-class turboprops for passengers, cargo, and medevac; scheduled aircraft typically tanker jet fuel from Rankin Inlet as Naujaat's on-field fuel is Diesel Fuel Arctic (DFA). Official passenger throughput is not separately published by Statistics Canada for this small airport; figure above is an estimate.
