Operating hoursAFIS-attended aerodrome, 1100Z to dusk+15min daily (UTC-4, roughly 07:00 local to sunset+15); no ATC tower and no published instrument approach — VFR only, night VFR prohibited so the field is effectively closed after dark; PPR/handling arranged through EDEIS's own business/leisure aviation (FBO) service for non-scheduled and GA traffic.
TerminalsSingle passenger terminal building, renovated 2017; sized for regional turboprop and general-aviation traffic, no jet bridges.

  • 12/30 · 1,200 m / 3,937 ft · 30 m wide · Asphalt
L'Espérance is the French side's turboprop and GA field, complementing Princess Juliana across the border in Dutch Sint Maarten. A single 1,200m runway with no ILS and no published instrument approach limits it to VFR operations by ATR-72-sized aircraft and smaller, with night flying prohibited; PAF border police and customs are present and have run targeted full-inspection ('100% control') anti-narcotrafficking sweeps on both commercial and GA traffic. Air Antilles, the long-time dominant carrier to Guadeloupe and Martinique, lost its DGAC air operator's certificate and was effectively grounded from December 2025; after judicial receivership opened 2 February 2026 failed to secure a buyer, the Pointe-à-Pitre commercial court ordered its judicial liquidation with immediate cessation of activity on 27 April 2026, ending its service to the island. As of September 2026 Air Caraïbes and St Barth Commuter remain the scheduled operators, and planners should expect thinner regional frequencies until replacement capacity firms up. Annual traffic reached a record 213,925 passengers in 2025 (UAF/EDEIS statistics, +2.4% on 2024), well above the 192,285 figure from 2018 that had been the prior figure on file.

EDEIS Aéroport Saint-Martin (Grand Case)
Airport operator EDEIS provides passenger and ramp handling for scheduled carriers (Air Antilles, Air Caraïbes, St Barth Commuter) and general/business aviation; the airport's own 'prestations et services' page confirms a mandatory ramp-assistance package for aircraft under 6 tonnes under EDEIS's 'WE CARE' programme (saintmartin-airport.com). · 07:00-19:00 daily

St Barth Commuter
St Barth Commuter, the scheduled inter-island carrier linking SFG to St Barthelemy, is a genuine operator confirmed serving this route on the airline's own site and on Wikipedia; presumed self-handled for its own turnarounds at its small home station, but this is not independently confirmed on the airline's or airport's own site. The airline's own site publishes only a single general contact (•••, •••); a different station-specific phone number claimed in a third-party directory could not be verified against that primary source, so the phone field is left null here rather than carrying an unconfirmed number.

Aircraft fuel Available · 2 providers
EDEIS Aéroport Saint-Martin (Grand Case)
FBO service arranges AVGAS 100LL and Jet A-1 fuelling for based and transient aircraft (into-plane/coordination role); the airport's own 'contacts et liens utiles' page lists the actual fuel depot as a separate operator, AERISCO, reached on a dedicated line -- consistent with EDEIS holding a coordination role rather than operating the depot itself.

AERISCO
Fuel supplier providing Jet A-1 and AVGAS 100LL at Aéroport Saint-Martin Grand-Case, confirmed directly on the airport's own 'contacts et liens utiles' page, which lists AERISCO by name against this exact phone number as the AVGAS/JET A1 fuel-service contact (distinct from EDEIS's FBO coordination role).

Cargo handling Unconfirmed
JOPOLO
JOPOLO is a real, SIRENE-registered freight-transport company based in Saint-Martin (Route du Mont Carmel/Les Bosquets, 97150), named as the airport's freight/cargo contact in third-party aviation-services directories; however it was not found named on the airport's own FBO or 'prestations et services' pages during, and the Union des Aeroports Francais profile page could not be reached to corroborate, so its specific airport-cargo-handling role (and the Daivy Ramssamy management detail) is unconfirmed at a primary source rather than independently verified.

Aviation security Unconfirmed
EDEIS Aéroport Saint-Martin (Grand Case)
As the airport operator, EDEIS is responsible for aviation security screening under the French/DGAC regulatory framework; no separately named security subcontractor was found for SFG specifically. The airport's own contacts page lists Customs and Immigration (Police aux Frontières) as distinct government border/customs lines, confirming these are not a security-screening contractor.
