Closed to civil traffic since Ukraine's 24 Feb 2022 airspace shutdown at the start of Russia's full-scale invasion; the newly built (2020) passenger terminal was hit and severely damaged by a Russian Kh-59 cruise missile on 26 May 2024, with no casualties reported.
