Single runway 12/30 (1230 x 30 m asphalt, field elevation 9 ft/3 m, PAPI both ends, no ILS) limits traffic to ATR72-class turboprops and smaller, flown almost entirely by Air Tahiti and Air Moana on the roughly 7-minute hop to Tahiti-Faa'a (PPT) plus onward Leeward Islands connections; all customs/immigration is handled at PPT, since Moorea has no international facilities of its own. The aerodrome is operated by SETIL Aeroports under a concession from the Government (Pays) of French Polynesia in place since 1977, distinct from the separate Aeroport de Tahiti (ADT) concession covering Tahiti-Faa'a; no subsequent operator change is independently confirmed. Annual traffic fell from a mid-2000s peak of 228,813 (2006) through a later multi-year decline before recovering; the 83,213 figure carried here for 2024 sits within a plausible recovery range but is not matched to a dated ISPF/DGAC primary release, so pax.year should be treated as an estimate pending confirmation.
