Koné Airport is the principal gateway to New Caledonia's North Province. Air Calédonie suspended its Koné-Nouméa (Magenta) rotation on 1 September 2024 for economic reasons and has not restored it as of 2026, leaving Province Nord's administrative-seat airport without scheduled commercial service. Nouméa-Magenta Airport itself closed in March 2026, with Nouméa-area traffic transferred to La Tontouta International Airport, so any restored scheduled service would route via La Tontouta rather than Magenta. General aviation, medevac and charter traffic continue on the single 1,220 m runway, which has displaced thresholds at both ends reducing usable length. No verified passenger figures have been published since the route was withdrawn.

Air Calédonie
Confirmed verbatim on Province Nord's own aerodrome-management page (the gestionnaire/exploitant of Koné aerodrome, via Direction de l'Aménagement et du Foncier): among the network's named intervenants is "la compagnie aérienne en ce qui concerne l'accueil du public et la surveillance de l'aérogare et de ses abords" (passenger reception and terminal/apron supervision), historically self-handled in-house by Air Calédonie for its Nouméa Magenta-Koné rotations. Air Calédonie suspended these scheduled rotations from 1 September 2024 "pour motifs économiques" (per Wikipedia's Aérodrome de Koné entry), coincident with the nearby Koniambo Nickel (KNS) plant's transition to care-and-maintenance (31 August 2024); Koné still does not appear as a bookable destination on the carrier's own booking site (air-caledonie.nc) as of September 2026, so no active ground-handling operation is confirmed today.

Direction de l'Aviation Civile de Nouvelle-Calédonie (DAC-NC)
Named explicitly, verbatim, by Province Nord (Direction de l'Aménagement et du Foncier, the aerodrome's own gestionnaire) among its network's other intervenants: "la Direction de l'Aviation civile en Nouvelle-Calédonie (DAC) qui apporte son concours par le biais d'une convention d'assistance, notamment pour la maintenance et l'installation des équipements techniques" and, separately, "la Direction de l'Aviation civile pour la fourniture des renseignements aéronautiques" (aeronautical information). Koné (Koohnê) is explicitly named within that same Province Nord aerodrome network. No Koné-specific staffing or opening-hours detail is published.
