No scheduled airline currently serves Húsavík. Eagle Air (Flugfélagið Ernir) ran year-round scheduled RKV-HZK service until withdrawing in April 2024, a change linked to the 2018 Vaðlaheiðargöng tunnel, which cut Húsavík-Akureyri drive time and made the Akureyri road/air gateway more attractive. Norlandair then flew a government-subsidized PSO winter-only season (Dec 2024-Mar 2025), but that service has since lapsed: as of Sep 2026 Norlandair's own destinations list does not include Húsavík, and no evidence of a renewed 2025-26 or 2026-27 winter PSO tender has been found, so the airport has had zero scheduled service for roughly 18 months. This should be revisited if a new tender or route is announced rather than treated as an active seasonal service. HZK remains one of Isavia Innanlandsflugvellir's 12 official scheduled domestic airports (with RKV, AEY, EGS, IFJ, VEY, HFN, GRY, BIU, VPN, THO and GJR), and currently sees general aviation, air taxi and medical evacuation traffic. The 2021 passenger figure (6,871) is the latest confirmed full-year count; current annual throughput is materially lower given the loss of scheduled service, but no official post-2021 figure has been confirmed. Approaches rely on non-directional beacons only (Garður and Húsavík NDBs); there is no ILS at the field.

Isavia Innanlandsflugvellir
Isavia Innanlandsflugvellir (the state company operating all of Iceland's domestic airports, incl. Húsavík/BIHU) is the confirmed field and apron operator; its own site publishes no dedicated Húsavík operations or contact page (unlike Reykjavík, Akureyri and Egilsstaðir, which do) and lists no third-party commercial handling agent. No scheduled airline currently serves HZK (Eagle Air's Reykjavík service ended April 2024; Norlandair's subsidised winter Reykjavík–Húsavík route ended March 2025 and no longer appears on Norlandair's route map), so the field now sees only general-aviation, charter and medevac movements, for which Isavia field staff are understood to provide basic marshalling/ramp assistance on request. Handling capability beyond the state operator itself is unconfirmed.
