Operating hoursH24 - no curfew; ATS/Tower operate round-the-clock. Heilongjiang province's principal air gateway and the largest airport in Northeast China by traffic (24.65 million passengers in 2025, a provincial record, up 3.6% on 2024's 23.80 million; the great majority of that traffic is domestic). China Southern Airlines is the largest carrier and keeps a hub here, alongside China Eastern and Sichuan Airlines. Longjiang Airlines (LJ Air) was founded in Harbin in 2014 but relocated its headquarters to Nanjing in February 2021; a further restructuring in April 2024 re-registered it in Taiyuan as Taiyuan Airlines Group, so it has not actually been Harbin-based since 2021. A new parallel runway (05R/23L, 3,600 m, concrete) opened 23 January 2025 alongside the original 05L/23R (3,200 m, asphalt), giving HRB Northeast China's first dual-runway layout. International/regional service remains modest relative to the airport's overwhelmingly domestic route base, focused on Russia and Northeast/Southeast Asia.
