Chetumal is the capital of Quintana Roo, sitting on the Belize border, and is served by Aeroméxico Connect, Viva and Mexicana de Aviación (plus Volaris) on domestic links to Mexico City (AICM/AIFA). Despite its 'Internacional' name, CTM has no scheduled international routes and no permanent on-site aduana today; a March 2025 PIA/NOTAM change ended a 2008-era restriction (NOTAM A0313-08) and let authorized private flights from the Caribbean/Central/South America resume landing directly, and state/federal officials announced plans in 2026 to build a dedicated customs post to finally activate the airport's international/cross-border role toward Belize and beyond.

Grupo Aeroportuario, Ferroviario y de Servicios Auxiliares y Conexos Olmeca-Maya-Mexica (GAFSACOMM)
GAFSACOMM, the Sedena (Mexican military)-owned holding company that has operated Chetumal International Airport since 2023, also took over the airport's Turbosina/Jet A fuel station from ASA (Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares) as part of a 2024-2025 transfer of 11 ASA fuel stations nationwide (including Campeche, Palenque and Felipe Ángeles). GAFSACOMM's fuel and TUA sales at its 13 fuel stations (including Chetumal) are reported as a major driver of its 2025 revenue growth.
