Replaced the old Zhanjiang (Xiashan) field on 24 March 2022; the new Wuchuan site, roughly 35 km from central Zhanjiang, is a 4E facility built to handle widebodies (777/747/787/A330/350) and was renamed 'International' on 20 February 2024 after gaining permanent foreign-carrier customs clearance, becoming Guangdong's fourth international gateway alongside Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai. 2025 traffic was 3,122,262 pax per the CAAC bulletin, well below the airport's 5.1 million designed capacity as western Guangdong route development is still ramping. Field elevation is not reliably published in open sources: the 125 ft / 38 m figure commonly seen attached to 'ZGZJ' actually belongs to the old, closed Xiashan airport and does not apply to this site -- independent terrain data (SRTM/ASTER at the new coordinates) puts natural ground level in the 33-56 ft (10-17 m) range, but the true surveyed field elevation should be pulled from the current AIP before use. Runway surface and ILS category are likewise not independently confirmed in public sources and should be checked against the current AIP/NOTAMs before ops planning.

The actual into-plane and depot operator at the new field, distinct from the group-level CNAF entry: per a 27-Apr-2022 Pengpai/thepaper.cn 30-year retrospective (中国航油湛江供应站30年发展侧记) and a 22-Mar-2022 CAAC News piece (中航油湛江供应站迁场筹备进入最后冲刺), the Zhanjiang supply station was set up in 1992 under CNAF's Central-South company, was folded in 1997 into the Sino-foreign joint venture 华南蓝天航空油料有限公司 (CNAF with BP and Fortune Oil), and today reports to South China Bluesky and CNAF Guangdong Branch (中国航油广东分公司). It moved overnight from the closed Xiashan site to Wuchuan for the 24-Mar-2022 opening: fuel farm on 77.64 mu plus a 24-mu apron fuelling station, 4.8 times the old footprint with 21.4 times the original tank capacity, and an establishment of 31 staff. A Baidu Baike summary of the airport adds hydrant fuelling at all 30 stands via 5,540 m of apron pipeline and 38 hydrant pits, with 2,026 sqm of test, tanker and maintenance buildings.
