Coral Harbour Airport serves the Inuit hamlet of Coral Harbour (pop. ~900) on Southampton Island in Nunavut's Kivalliq region, accessible only by air and seasonal sealift; its long gravel runway is a legacy of the WWII-era U.S. Army Air Forces base 'Crystal II', built in 1941 as a Crimson Route ferry stopover and later used as a Cold War DEW Line depot site. Calm Air provides the community's sole scheduled air link, connecting to Rankin Inlet and other Kivalliq communities.
