Umiujaq is a fly-in-only Inuit community of about 540 people on the Hudson Bay coast of Nunavik, founded in 1986 by families relocated from Kuujjuarapik; Air Inuit provides the only scheduled passenger, cargo and medevac service, linking Umiujaq to Kuujjuarapik, Inukjuak, Sanikiluaq and onward to Montreal-Trudeau, with no road connection to the rest of Quebec.
