Rigolet is a fly-in/fly-out Inuit coastal community (pop. 327, 2021 census) on Lake Melville with no year-round road access; the gravel airstrip, a seasonal coastal ferry, and winter snowmobile trails are the only links to Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Air Borealis (a joint venture between PAL Airlines, Innu Development LP, and the Nunatsiavut Group of Companies) flies DHC-6 Twin Otters to Goose Bay several times a week, carrying passengers, mail, freight, and medical travel patients for Labrador-Grenfell Health as part of the essential North Coast Labrador air network. Passenger volume figure above is an estimate (see notes field) as no official total is separately published for this small provincial airstrip.
