Natashquan (birthplace of poet-singer Gilles Vigneault) sits beside the distinct Innu reserve of Nutashkuan and marks the eastern terminus of paved Route 138 (completed 1996); beyond it the remaining ~375km of Lower North Shore communities to Blanc-Sablon have no road at all and rely on this air link plus the Bella Desgagnes coastal ferry.
