Air Liaison has long provided subsidized Lower North Shore (Basse-Côte-Nord) service linking Saint-Augustin to Blanc-Sablon, La Romaine, Natashquan, Sept-Îles, Québec City and Montréal-Saint-Hubert; Central Mountain Air launched a parallel six-day-a-week Montréal-Québec City-Sept-Îles-Basse-Côte-Nord route through Saint-Augustin in January 2026. The airport sits across the Saint-Augustin River from the Innu community of Pakua Shipi (Pakuashipi, pop. ~400), reached by ferry in summer and snowmobile trail in winter; neither community has year-round road access, with Saint-Augustin lying roughly 218 km beyond the end of Route 138 at Kegaska.
