Airport contact
Honduras's newest and largest airport, built on the former Soto Cano/Palmerola joint US-Honduran air base and opened in October 2021 (commercial service from December 2021) to replace obstacle-constrained Toncontin as the primary international gateway for greater Tegucigalpa, roughly 60 km away by road; now anchors long-haul and regional service for American, United, Avianca, Copa, Aeroméxico and others under a Grupo EMCO / Munich Airport concession (Spirit Airlines, an early anchor carrier, ceased all operations in 2026).
