Named for Brazilian Air Force Brigadier Lysias Augusto Rodrigues, this is the main air gateway for Tocantins state and for the Jalapao tourism region, with LATAM Brasil, GOL and Azul running domestic trunk routes to Brasilia, Sao Paulo, Goiania and other hubs. Despite 'International' in its official name it currently handles domestic traffic only, with no customs or immigration facility (approach aids are VOR/DME and RNP/RNAV only, no ILS on RWY 14/32). Passenger volumes have grown strongly post-pandemic (436,318 in 2021 to 747,178 in 2025, a historical record for the airport).
