Vladikavkaz International Airport (Beslan) OGZ / URMO

Also long known simply as Beslan Airport, this is the sole airport of North Ossetia-Alania, about 15 km from central Vladikavkaz. Its single 3,000 x 45 m runway 09/27 was rebuilt in a 2007-2014 reconstruction - closed to all flights 14 Sep-2 Dec 2014, reopened 3 Dec 2014, with runway lighting and storm-drainage work finished later that December; legacy ILS/glideslope equipment has been reported since a 1979 modernization, though its current category and frequencies were not independently confirmed. A new combined domestic/international terminal, designed for over 1 million passengers a year, opened 13 December 2022. Traffic has climbed steadily since - from about 565,600 in 2019 to 940,000 in 2024 (+2.6% year on year); no domestic/international passenger breakdown was located, and no audited full-year 2025 total had been published as of this record. Scheduled service is dominated by Pobeda, S7, Ural Airlines and UTair to Moscow (Vnukovo/Domodedovo/Sheremetyevo) and St Petersburg, plus Red Wings service to Sochi and seasonal international charters to Antalya and Istanbul. As at other Russian airports, Western fuel majors, handlers and most Western carriers have been absent since February 2022 and EU/UK/US airspace remains closed to Russian aviation; unlike several other airports in southern Russia, Vladikavkaz has not been reported on Rosaviatsia's recurring lists of flight-restricted airports.
