Operating hoursNo control tower; unattended, non-towered field, UNICOM 122.8. High-intensity runway edge lighting is installed, but no published pilot-controlled-lighting procedure or night operating hours were found, so night operations should be treated as unconfirmed. Open to the public; foreign civil/government aircraft may require landing fees and diplomatic/overflight clearance. Local flight information via Nassau Flight Service, +1-242-377-7116.
TerminalsSingle small terminal building serving domestic flights only. Two separate upgrade contracts are underway as part of the 14-airport Family Islands Airport Renaissance Program: a runway extension/reconstruction (~US$20.8M, contractor Bahamas Hot Mix, targeting roughly 6,000-6,500 ft with a raised, more resilient surface) began construction in July 2025, and a new US$10.9M passenger terminal (contractor Presur Construction Ltd., to include future international arrivals/Customs-Immigration space) was contracted on November 21, 2025. Neither project is complete as of this record.
Runways (1)
  • 09/27 · 1,219 m / 3,999 ft · 30 m wide · Asphalt (reported rough surface with loose gravel and small potholes near the runway 27 threshold)
A domestic Family Islands strip serving Deadman's Cay and the southern/central settlements of Long Island (including Clarence Town) via Bahamasair (Nassau, San Salvador) and Southern Air Charter (Nassau, Stella Maris); not an airport of entry, no customs/immigration, and no fuel available on-field, so it functions purely as a local/tourism gateway pending its separate runway-extension and new-terminal projects (both underway in 2025, part of the 14-airport Family Islands Airport Renaissance Program). Official annual passenger throughput is not separately published by BCAA for this out-island field; treat any figure as unverified/unpublished rather than assume a specific total.

Ground handling Unconfirmed · 2 providers
Bahamasair
The Bahamian flag carrier operates scheduled turboprop flights between Nassau and Deadman's Cay (LGI), 13x weekly. LGI has no FBO or third-party ground handler (confirmed by the Business Air News airport handbook, which lists none, and by Universal Weather's own airport page, which states LGI is not an airport of entry and does not house FBOs), so Bahamasair is understood to self-handle its own turnarounds here, as it does at other Family Island stations.

Southern Air Charter
This Nassau-based Bahamian carrier lists Deadman's Cay among its regular scheduled Family Island destinations. As LGI has no independent FBO or ground handler, Southern Air Charter is understood to self-handle its own flights at this out-island station.
