Jose Marti International Airport HAV / MUHA

ECASA, the CACSA-subsidiary state operator created by public deed #1705 on September 16, 1996, administers José Martí International Airport and provides passenger and aircraft ground/commercial services nationwide, including at HAV.

Cubana de Aviación, Cuba's national carrier and a hub airline at José Martí, self-handles its own ramp, passenger and aircraft ground operations there.

Cuba Handling LLC arranges aircraft handling, parking, and ramp coordination for private and charter aircraft operating into José Martí International and other Cuban airports.

ECASA is the designated seller of Jet A-1, lubricants and special liquids at José Martí International. Cuba issued NOTAMs declaring Jet A-1 unavailable at its international airports beginning around February 10, 2026, tied to disrupted Venezuelan and Mexican oil imports amid US pressure; the restriction has been extended multiple times, confirmed in force through at least early April 2026, so uplift should be confirmed directly in advance of arrival.

Cubana's maintenance hangar at José Martí has not been in service for roughly five years due to structural disrepair and technological obsolescence; a multi-year CCOA-led rehabilitation project covering the roof, structures, flooring and utility systems was underway as of September 2025 and explicitly was not expected to finish that year, so third-party maintenance capability is currently unavailable.

Metallic-structure and composite-materials shop (taller de estructuras metalicas y de materiales compuestos) in its own equipped workshop at Jose Marti Intl, Van Troi y Final, Municipio Boyeros, La Habana — bench repair of metallic structures and composite-material parts, supporting the co-located ATR42/ATR72 base and line operation. GAM technics S.A. is the Cuban joint venture formed in 2008 with Spanish partner C.I. Guadaira S.A.; it publishes two approvals against this Havana facility, Cuban IACC OMA RAC-24-145-GAM-01 and EASA Part-145 EASA.145.0491.

De-icing boot shop — replacement and repair of pneumatic de-icing boots, with the required equipment and installation on site; covers boots on ATR leading edges under maintenance and leading edges removed from other aircraft, worked off-aircraft through the certified composites shop. The company states its scope is "Alcance aprobado por EASA C-18 y C-20" (C18 protection / de-icing, C20 structural) under EASA.145.0491; this is the operator's own published claim — EASA's downloadable scope dataset covers only BASA states, and the certificate and capability list on the company site are image scans, so the class letters are not independently confirmed.

Component strip-and-paint shop — full off-aircraft process for stripping, sanding, painting and drying of parts, pieces and components, including airline livery tones, logos and corporate markings; listed by the company as specialised painting of aircraft "asi como de sus partes, piezas y componentes". Carried out under the stated C18/C20 structures scope; a discrete class rating for paint is unconfirmed.

Tooling and ground-support-equipment shop — repair and verification of generic and specific tooling and jigs, plus repair, maintenance and proof-load testing of hydraulic jacks to 30 t and axle jacks to 150 t. The same shop maintains an extensive pool of specialised tooling and equipment kept within its calibration and maintenance periods, leased to Cuban and foreign operators and maintenance organisations. Class rating unconfirmed.

Piston-engine shop — capital repair (overhaul) of piston aero-engines, principally the Shvetsov ASh-62 series fitted to the An-2 agricultural and vector-control fleet, at the taller nacional de Servicios Aereos, a unidad empresarial de base in the Playa municipality of Havana (roughly 15 km from Jose Marti Intl). Reported output of 25 engines overhauled in 2014, the most recent published figure; no engine class rating is published and the approval basis is unconfirmed.

Propeller shop — overhaul and repair of propellers on the same bench line as the engine shop, with a reported 37 propellers overhauled in 2014 alongside the engine output. The Ingenieria y Aeronavegabilidad arm of Cuba's Instituto de Aeronautica Civil is the airworthiness authority for the site, but no propeller class rating is published and the approval basis is unconfirmed.

Electroplating / surface-treatment shop — in-house lead-tin (plomo-estano) plating line for engine parts recovered during ASh-62 capital repair, built by the plant's own innovators with technical advice from the Centro de Investigaciones Metalurgicas, completed and certified in August 2014 and validated by the Departamento de Ingenieria y Aeronavegabilidad de la Aeronautica Civil de Cuba. It brought in-house a treatment previously sent to Russia and, after the Cuban Yuri Gagarin military-industrial line was scrapped, to Poland.

Cuba Catering S.A., a CACSA subsidiary established September 16, 1996 and the sole aircraft catering operator in Cuba, runs its main production unit near Terminal 1 at José Martí International, supplying in-flight meals and provisioning to Cubana de Aviación and roughly 50 other airlines serving the airport.

Aerovaradero S.A., a CACSA subsidiary established in 1993 and headquartered at José Martí International Airport (Carretera Wajay km 1½, between Terminals 2 and 3), operates the airport's air cargo/freight terminal for national and international freight, including refrigerated/cold-chain capacity.

Cuba Handling LLC arranges ground transport, drivers, and VIP lodging/itinerary coordination for passengers and crew arriving at José Martí International.

Cuba Handling LLC provides landing/overflight permits, fuel coordination, and customs, immigration and crew/passenger entry visa processing for private aircraft operations at José Martí International.
